WORKSHOP GROUPS
What stays the same:
We will continue offering 4 workshop groups.
What’s new:
Instead of assigning groups based on experience level, you will now get to choose when you’d like to learn—morning or evening—and how you’d like to learn—in a big group or a small group.
Please note:
Each group has a limited number of spots and is already balanced between leaders and followers. Once a group is full, you will need to select a different one.
Basically, whether you’re brand-new or rocking champion vibes, you’ll be thrown into a lively mix of dancers with all kinds of experience!

BONUS WORKSHOPS

Contact improvisation – Friday workshop
Open workshop for everyone
Contact Improvisation is an open-ended exploration of the body in motion with others. We use the fundamental laws of physics—gravity, momentum, and inertia—to create a spontaneous dance dialogue. In this workshop, we move beyond ‘steps’ and instead listen through our skin. Whether you are flying, falling, or simply breathing in contact, you will discover a profound sense of presence and connection.
No dance experience required—just a curious mind and a willing body.

Body awareness
These will be mainly solo movement classes where there is no “right” or “wrong”, but a process of feeling, knowing, exploring and letting go. We will experience the process of movement, letting go into the creative process, exploring the expression of emotions in the body and in movement. Classes will mainly use principles from the mindfulness-based approach, the Laban-Bartenieff movement system, used by choreographers, physiotherapists, directors and other professionals.
Sounds exciting, but at the same time a bit frightening? Don’t worry.
Classes will be led by Darja Krizska-Popova who is a certified art therapist with specialization in dance and movement therapy, a board member of the Latvian Association of Art Therapy Associations. Her daily work is “about and around” movement and building and strengthening the relationship with your body, about awareness of yourself and your body. She works as a dance and movement therapist in a hospital, in spare time teaches Zouk and stage movement in a youth theater studio.
See you at the workshops that, hopefully, will help to connect more thoroughly to Yourself through the movement.
There will be no visual separation between the groups (no different-colour wristbands, stickers, etc.). However, please stick to the group you selected during registration so we can maintain a good balance and appropriate group size.
All groups will cover the same topics, so come to class open-minded, motivated, and ready to learn and improve!
All the workshops will be held in ENGLISH!
